custom work

Julie knew what she wanted right from the beginning. Her dress had to be off-white, long and flowy, had to have the delicate lace over the bodice with scalloped edges, the low V-neck and back. She also wanted a soft sash that ties as a bow at the back. The short kimono sleeves were designed to add to this romantic and elegant look that we both loved. After e.mailing back and forth some pics and sketches with ideas we came up with the following sketch.

Then Julie picked her favorite lace from several types I offered. This one.

It is a French chantilly lace. Isn't it fabulous? So detailed and delicate. The combination of this lace with our silk chiffon fabric sounded perfect for the project.

The inner structure of the dress.
Basically it is a corset with the stretchy mesh material draped over it. The bra cups and adjustable straps were added for more support and comfort. The cups and bonning structure are hidden so none of them can be seen through the sheer chiffon.

This is how Julie's back looked like. Very low.

The dress turned out beautiful. Julie and I were happy with the result. What a pleasure it was to work with this girl, she is brave and her heart is truly full of gold! I believe her marriage will be happy and prosperous.
If you are interested to see more of Julie's custom made dress please take a look at my next post with more pics from the real wedding! Imagine a dream wedding on an Italian villa...I won't say more...
